This is a common concern. The idea of my HouseMate proposal is to offer low cost homeownership to anyone, not just low income households. Just like the public health system is available to all. That would mean a diverse range of people. It is also possible to mix the tenure in a project—for example, by selling maybe a quarter of the dwellings on the private market, and renting a quarter at market price as a build-to-rent public landlord. Doing this would also generate revenues to help subsidise the below-market home sales to the public homeownership scheme.
Disgusting and not surprising. Land abates us, Gov have the controls and they choose to look after themselves & the top % along with the negative gearers, all for a vote.
Take yourself back 200 odd years ago. Land grants were given out to people who wanted to do something with the land. We could still do that..even now. I'm simplifying I know, but give it a minute
Wouldn't building cheap housing concentrated in a single area lead to 'ghettoization' ? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghetto
